GymLedger is a local-first workout logger. All of your training data — exercises, sets, reps, weights, routines, workout history, and bodyweight entries — is stored on your iPhone using Apple's SwiftData framework. This data never leaves your device and is never transmitted to us or anyone else. There is no GymLedger account, no sign-up, no login, and no cloud sync in this version of the app.
GymLedger sends a small amount of anonymous, aggregate analytics only. There are exactly two features that transmit anything off your device:
Each of these events carries a random, anonymous install identifier (a random value generated on first launch that is not tied to your identity, your Apple ID, your name, or any personal information), plus the app's slug and version and the type of event. For a feature suggestion it also carries the suggestion text you typed and your optional email if you provided one. That is the complete list of what is transmitted.
To be explicit:
This version of GymLedger does not integrate with Apple Health / HealthKit and does not read or write any health or fitness data outside the app. HealthKit support is something we may add in a future version; if we do, we will update this policy before that feature ships and explain exactly what health data is used and how.
Any optional purchase in GymLedger is processed by Apple through the App Store using StoreKit. GymLedger never sees your payment method, Apple ID, or billing details — Apple processes the payment and we never receive card data. Apple's privacy policy governs that transaction.
GymLedger requires no sign-up, no email address, no phone number, and no social login to work. There is no GymLedger account and no GymLedger server that stores your identity or your training log.
GymLedger is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal data from anyone of any age.
Because your workout data is stored only on your device and is never uploaded, there is no GymLedger database of your training log to breach. If your device is compromised, that is governed by Apple's device security model — we recommend using a strong passcode and Face ID / Touch ID.
Your workouts, routines, history, and bodyweight entries live only on your device and are deleted when you delete GymLedger or clear them yourself. The anonymous analytics events described above are retained only for as long as needed to improve the app and prioritize features, and carry no information that identifies you.
If this policy ever changes we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be noted in the App Store release notes. Continued use of GymLedger after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
