Mini Keyboard · Last updated 9 August 2026
Keystrokes, pointer movement, scrolling and clicks travel directly from the iPhone app to the Mac app across your local network, over an encrypted connection, using a secret established when you scanned the pairing QR code. They are not stored, not logged, and not transmitted anywhere else. We never receive them and cannot see them.
Crash diagnostics. The iPhone app uses Firebase Crashlytics (Google). If the app crashes or is terminated unexpectedly, it sends a diagnostic report containing the state of the program at the time — the sequence of code that was running, the device model, and the OS version. It also includes a randomly generated Firebase installation identifier so repeated reports from the same install can be grouped.
These reports are not linked to your identity and are not used for tracking or advertising. They contain no keystrokes, no text you typed, no names of your devices or Macs, and no pairing secrets — the app is written to exclude those deliberately, and that exclusion is covered by an automated test.
No analytics. The app does not include Firebase Analytics or any other analytics SDK. Usage is not measured or reported.
The iPhone app uses the camera once, to scan the pairing code shown on your Mac. No photo or video is taken, saved, or transmitted.
Both apps use your local network to find each other and connect. This is what makes the product work, and it is why iOS and macOS ask your permission for it. Nothing is sent beyond your own network.
The Mac app stores one thing: the pairing secret, kept in the macOS Keychain so a paired iPhone stays paired between launches. It never leaves your Mac. Choosing New code replaces it and disconnects previously paired phones.
Mini Keyboard is a utility with no social features, no user-generated content, and no advertising. It is not directed at children.
If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected, the updated policy will be published here with a new date, and the change will be described in the app's release notes.
