Shatterway · last updated 7 August 2026

No account, and no advertising. Everything you do in the game — progress, stars, records, Daily Run history, settings — stays on your device and is never uploaded. Shatterway does send anonymous usage and crash data so we can see which levels are too hard and fix what breaks, and it sends the text of any feedback you choose to submit. Nothing else leaves your phone.

What stays on your device

Your progress — stars earned, levels cleared, panes shattered, best chain, Daily Run history and settings — is saved on your device only, using the operating system's standard local storage. It is never uploaded, and we cannot read it.

Anonymous usage data

Shatterway reports a small set of gameplay events through Google Firebase Analytics: that a level started, that it was cleared or failed, that it was retried, that a chapter was opened. These carry level identifiers and counts — never anything you typed, and never anything about you.

They are tied to a random identifier generated on first launch, not to your name, your email or your Apple Account. We use them to answer questions like "which level is everyone giving up on", which is not answerable any other way.

Crash reports

If the game crashes, Google Firebase Crashlytics sends us the crash — the stack trace, the device model, the OS version, and a note of the last screen you were on. It is how a crash gets fixed rather than merely regretted.

Feedback you choose to send

Settings → Send feedback is the only place the app sends anything you wrote. If you use it, we receive the text you type, the category you picked, optionally what you said you would pay, and — only if you fill it in — an email address so we can reply. If you never open that form, none of this is ever sent.

Notifications

The Daily Run reminder is scheduled entirely on your device; nothing is sent to us to make it work, and the corridor itself is generated from the date rather than fetched. Shatterway also registers for remote notifications, which means Apple and Google Firebase hold a device token so we can send an occasional message about the game. The token identifies a device, not a person, and no personal data is ever put into a notification.

Purchases

If you buy The Whole Corridor, the transaction is handled entirely by Apple. We never see your name, your payment details, or your Apple Account. The app only ever asks the operating system a yes/no question: is this unlocked?

Apple's own handling of that transaction is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.

What we never collect

Nothing is sold, and nothing is shared with data brokers. The data described above is not used to track you across other apps or websites.

Children

Shatterway is rated 4+ and is safe for children. There is no chat, no user-generated content shown to other players, no advertising, and no links out of the game. The usage and crash data above is anonymous and is not used to build a profile of anyone, of any age.

Your rights

To erase everything stored on your device, use Settings → Erase all progress, or delete the app. To ask what feedback we hold from you, or to have it deleted, email the address below — feedback is the only thing we hold that could be connected back to you, and only if you sent some.

Deleting the app stops all further collection. Neither affects your purchase, which Apple keeps and which you can restore at any time.

Changes

An earlier version of this page said Shatterway collected nothing, and promised it would be updated before any version that collected something shipped. That is not what happened: analytics, crash reporting and the feedback form went into TestFlight build 5 first, and this page follows. Saying so plainly is more useful than quietly backdating it. No build has been released to the App Store under the old wording.
